Accessibility
We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard alone, or a magnified display. This page says where we are, honestly.
How we measure it
We assess this site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by EN 301 549 and by European public procurement.
This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out in September 2026, covering every page of the site, and was last revised on 11 September 2026. It has not yet been reviewed by an external auditor.
Our honest position is partially conformant: most of the standard is met, and the specific things that are not are listed below rather than left for you to discover.
What the site supports
- Every page has one main heading and a consistent heading structure, so you can navigate by headings.
- Landmarks — header, navigation, main content and footer — are marked up on every page, so you can jump between regions.
- A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing you reach with the keyboard.
- Every image carries alternative text, and images that are purely decorative are marked so screen readers pass over them.
- The contact form labels every field properly, marks errors in words rather than colour alone, and announces them when they appear.
- Text is not locked at a fixed size: the page can be zoomed and reflows to narrow screens.
- Animation is switched off for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
- The site works without a mouse, and without JavaScript for reading and navigating content.
What currently falls short
One thing does, and it is known and being worked on. We would rather name it than claim a conformance we have not reached.
- The navigation drawer is built in a way that behaves poorly with a keyboard: its links can be reached by tabbing even when it is closed, and closing it does not return focus to the button that opened it. This is the most significant accessibility problem on the site and is being rebuilt.
Adjusting the site yourself
There is a display settings control at the edge of every page. Switching it on increases the text size and strengthens colour contrast across the whole site. Your choice is remembered on your own device and is never sent to us.
Your browser and operating system will usually do more than we can:
- Zoom: Ctrl and + or − on Windows and Linux, Cmd and + or − on a Mac. The site is built to reflow rather than require sideways scrolling.
- Text size only: most browsers can enlarge text without enlarging images, under Settings → Appearance.
- Higher contrast: Windows has Contrast Themes under Accessibility settings; macOS has Increase Contrast under Accessibility → Display; both are picked up automatically by this site.
- Less motion: Reduce Motion on macOS and iOS, or Show Animations on Windows, switches off the site’s animation.
Telling us about a problem
